Ceramic RFID tags solve the hardest problem in asset tagging: metal objects too small, or too harshly treated, for any conventional label. A sintered ceramic body shields the inlay from solvents, abrasion and heat, and the antenna is tuned to work with the metal substrate rather than fight it. We supply this family for hand tools, molds, instruments, server components and other dense-metal items where every millimeter of mounting space counts.
Choosing a ceramic tag
Footprint comes first. The miniaturized asset tag in this range measures just 4.0 × 4.0 mm with a 3.0 mm height — small enough to recess into a tool handle or an instrument shank. Next, weigh read range against that size: on metal, the mini format reaches up to 0.8 m with a fixed reader and around 0.4 m with a handheld, which suits close-range identification rather than dock-door scanning. Finally, confirm the environment: the tag is rated for storage from −40 °C to +150 °C and operation from −40 °C to +85 °C, complies with EPC Class1 Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C, and carries a 96-bit EPC plus 512 bits of user memory for local data.
