RT-S129

On Metal UHF RFID tag · 85×20 mm

Injection-molded ABS tag built for equipment that lives outdoors or on the factory floor: IP68 sealed, -20 to 100 °C operating range, and mounted by screw or adhesive on metal, walls, wood or plastic. Inside, an Impinj M781 chip reads up to 6 meters on metal at 902–928 MHz and offers 512 bits of user memory.

The problem with asset registers

Fixed-asset registers rot quietly: equipment moves, spreadsheets do not, and the annual audit turns into archaeology. RFID converts that chore into a walk-through. Each asset carries a unique electronic identity, a handheld reader sweeps a room in minutes, and the register reconciles itself against what was actually found — including the laptop that migrated two floors up and the machine that never came back from repair.

Which tags fit, and why

The tagging challenge is that assets are the least uniform things a business owns. Laptops, servers and racking are metal or metal-adjacent, which detunes ordinary labels; plant equipment gets knocked, washed and repainted; instruments vary wildly in size. That reality maps onto two main tag types. Thin, printable flexible on-metal labels suit IT estates and smooth metal surfaces where a low profile and a printed asset number matter. Where assets lead rougher lives — workshops, warehouses, outdoor cabinets — molded ABS on-metal tags trade slimness for a housing that shrugs off impact and moisture, with read ranges long enough for doorway scanning. Mixed estates usually deploy both under a single encoding scheme so every asset answers the same reader the same way, and small or heat-exposed items can borrow ceramic and high-temperature formats from the industrial range.

Ordering note

Send an asset list or a handful of photos and we will propose a tag mix with pricing within 24 hours. Samples are free on freight-collect terms and arrive in 3–5 working days; full orders, encoded to your numbering scheme, complete 7–15 days after approval on ISO 9001-audited partner lines.

Quotations, samples and supply

How fast will I get a quotation?
We reply to every enquiry within 24 hours with a specific recommendation — chip, antenna, face material and adhesive — plus tiered unit pricing for the quantities you request.
Can I get samples before ordering?
Yes. Samples are free of charge (freight collect) and dispatched within 3–5 working days, so you can verify read performance on your own material before committing to production.
What is the production lead time?
Mass production typically ships in 7–15 days after artwork approval. Our partner factories run 30+ production lines with a combined capacity of about 1.5 billion tags per year.
Are you the manufacturer?
We are an independent supplier, not the factory. Production runs on audited partner lines in China that hold ISO 9001 certification and ARC-certified standard designs; we handle engineering review, sampling, QC and logistics, and remain your single accountable contact.
